The Structure
Criteria for the Selection of Trustees
1. Experience in STEM and Construction Industry:
Trustees should possess fair knowledge and experience in STEM fields, particularly those related to the Building & Construction Industry.
2. Commitment to Youth Development:
Prospective trustees must demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission of EBF, with a passion for youth development, education, and empowerment in STEM disciplines.
3. Leadership and Decision-Making Skills:
Prospective trustees should demonstrate not only leadership and decision-making skills but also a commitment to the financial sustainability of the foundation. Additionally, trustees should have served in a senior management role in their professional career, ensuring they bring valuable leadership experience to the Foundation.
4. Networking and Collaborative Skills:
Trustees should have the capacity to leverage their professional networks and foster collaborations that benefit EBF, including fundraising opportunities, partnerships with educational institutions, industry stakeholders, and other relevant organizations.
5. Financial Acumen:
An understanding of financial management & fundraising is crucial. Trustees should contribute to the foundation's financial sustainability by participating in fundraising efforts.
1. Lifetime Friends and Associates of Mr. Emmanuel Botchwey:
Individuals who share a long-standing personal or professional relationship with Mr. Emmanuel Botchwey may be appointed as Honorary Trustees. Their role would involve providing insights, support, and personal connections to enhance the foundation's reach.
2. Family Members:
Family members of Mr. Emmanuel Botchwey, including children, may be considered as Honorary Trustees, contributing a unique perspective and a familial commitment to the foundation's success.
An honorary trustee MUST also fulfill at least two of the criteria stipulated under regular trustees, ensuring they bring valuable skills and commitment to the foundation.
3. Specialized Expertise:
Individuals with unique expertise, achievements, or contributions to the fields relevant to EBF's mission may be appointed as Honorary Trustees to lend their prestige and knowledge to the foundation.
Honorary Trustees shall contribute a financial token to the Seed Fund.
The selection of trustees, both regular and honorary, involves a vetting process.
A Nominating Committee shall be appointed by the Directors.
The Nominating Committee will review nominations, interview candidates, and make recommendations to the Directors for approval.
Term Limits:
Regular trustees serve a 3-year renewable term to maintain fresh perspectives, while honorary trustees have an indefinite term.
Code of Conduct:
All trustees, whether regular or honorary, are expected to adhere to a code of conduct that emphasizes ethical behaviour, confidentiality, and a commitment to the foundation's mission and vision.
